The Best Early Labor Day Deals From HP on Desktops and Laptop PCs

Labor Day weekend is a great opportunity to shop, perhaps the last real opportunity of the summer. Electronics retailers love a holiday, and many of the big names are already getting things going with early deals. We checked in on HP’s advance Labor Day deals, and they’re pretty intense, with price drops as deep as 68% on laptops and desktops. Here are three to start with, and I’ll pop more in as I evaluate them.

HP OmniBook X Flip 2-In-1 Laptop Early Labor Day Deal

HP is going wild with the discounts on laptops, and a 48% price drop on the versatile OmniBook X Flip is worth celebrating. A 16-inch touchscreen is the big selling point of this convertible laptop, letting you use it as a massive tablet or tent display. The all-metal chassis feels super durable, even if it is a bit heavy. We have an extensive review, where it handled everyday productivity benchmarks with ease. Under the hood, you’ll find a capable Intel Core Ultra 7 processor paired with 16GB of RAM, with on-device Microsoft Copilot AI features working wonderfully. An integrated Intel Arc 140v graphics card boosts its visual appeal as well. Port selection is solid, and the keyboard feels spacious and responsive. Snagging a laptop with this much appeal for $750 is a rare feat these days, so grab one while you can.

HP HyperX Omen Gaming Laptop Early Labor Day Deal

HP’s gaming offerings are also on sale for Labor Day, and if you’re in the market for a midrange portable PC, this is a great value at $700 off. We have a comprehensive review of the HyperX Omen 16z, where we noted that it was a solid performer, with a durable-feeling build, comfortable keyboard and responsive touchpad. The version we took into the lab had an underpowered RTX 5050 GPU, but this one boosts that to a much more capable RTX 5060, which makes a huge difference in how it makes modern games look. Other strong points for this one include battery life, which tested out at over 11 hours on a single charge in our evaluation, and decent port selection and connectivity, including Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.

HP EliteBoard G1a Desktop PC Early Labor Day Deal

Now this is an unusual product. HP’s EliteBoard G1a is a micro desktop where all of the components are enclosed inside the keyboard housing. My first computer was a Commodore 64 that worked the same way, so this is kind of a return to tradition. Despite its small form factor, this is a seriously effective productivity PC, with a speedy Ryzen AI 5 PRO processor that can handle just about anything you throw at it, alongside 24GB of DDR5 RAM. We have a full review of this machine, giving it an “Excellent” rating. It fills a very real niche for office workers who use a docked laptop and an external monitor, and it’s a great alternative for workspaces that want to reduce clutter. HP’s got a ridiculous price drop of 68% for Labor Day, so it’s worth picking one up just to mess with it.
